Centre for Development Documentation & Communication
Centre's Mandate
The Centre for Development Documentation and Communication (CDC) is the Professional
Support Centre assigned with the mandate to provide information services. The Documentation
Centre collects, collates and consolidates the information related to Rural Development
and disseminates the information to policy framers, researchers, trainers and all
those involved in development. It is also mandated to publish various research reports,
conference/seminar proceedings, Journal of Rural Development (JRD), Pragati Newsletter
and other publications for wider dissemination of information among the stakeholders
in the field of Rural Development and allied aspects. The Centre provides audio-visual
support to the training programmes, and other events held in the Institute. Apart
from these responsibilities, the Centre also arranges media coverage as and when
required. The Centre comprises three important sections:
- Library.
- Publications.
- Audio-visual.
Objectives
- Information dissemination to all Centres/Schools of NIRD&PR.
- Providing audio-visual
support to all the programmes and other events held in NIRD&PR.
- Bringing out
all publications of NIRD&PR and Ministry of Rural Development.
