Centre's Mandate

Building committed, motivated professionals in the area of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj for effective implementation of development programmes and initiatives with the focus on human development and capacity development. To ensure sustainable leadership and managerial skills among the functionaries of rural development & Panchayati Raj through quality training and research in the field of human resource development.

Objectives

Enabling People's participation in development process through

  • Understanding analyzing and attempting strategies for Behaviour modification, in the context of Rural Development.
  • Focus on study of attitudes, perceptions, motivations, abilities and aptitudes for sustainable human development.
  • Study of the discrepancy between the felt and articulated needs critical.
  • Leadership, group dynamics, motivation- key to participation.
  • Development of training and resource material including simulation exercises for behavioural and attitudinal changes.

Thrust area & scope

  • Training : Training Need Assessment, Systematic Approach to Training, Evaluation of Training and training methods and skills.
  • Research Methodology : Qualitative and Quantitative techniques
  • HRD Process & Activities: Capacity Building; Assessing the needs of HRD; Designing and Developing HRD programmes; Evaluation of HRD programmes.
  • HRD Applications and Trends: Psychometric Techniques, Coaching and mentoring; Competency mapping,
  • Organisational Behaviour: Behavioural Dimensions (Leadership, Motivation, Team building, Stress Management and communication skills of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj functionaries.
  • Education: Planning, Development and Management of Education Sector.
  • Community Health: Planning, Development and Management of Health sector.
